If you've already been using a Google Voice number for business, you're in luck!
First, set up a regular Zaplee account. Select the first button that says you want callers to contact you via Zaplee.
Next, when you've gone through the registration process, complete a very basic set-up of your company:
- Under Company Set-up, select Ring Employees Simultaneously. Un-check the box that says "Use Company Voicemail." Do not set up departments or use after-hours forwarding. You can change this after you have completed the Google Voice set-up.
- In your Skype software/account, add "zaplee.com" as a contact.
- Under employees, add yourself using your Skype ID.
- Under Greetings, type the letter "A" for the Company Greeting in the text-to-speech option, so that the system answers Google's call during the verification process. Make sure the greeting is no longer than one letter, or Google's verification process may time out.
Now, go to your Google Voice account.
Go to settings (you can just click on your number to be taken to settings).
In the "Forward calls to" section, change it to your new Zaplee-provisioned number. You can label this number as "work" or "home."
When you click "Save" after adding your new Zaplee number, Google Voice will prompt you to verify the number.
Make sure you are logged into Skype, and click "Connect" on the Verification Prompt in Google Voice.
When you receive the call on Skype, enter the verification code using the Skype Dial Pad (this is how to see the Skype Dial Pad https://zaplee.zendesk.com/entries/20855617-where-is-the-skype-dial-pad).
After the Google Voice operator says your number is verified, you can disconnect. Now, you can log into Zaplee and set up employees, departments and greetings any way you choose.
